Application

Sulfated castor oil, also known as Turkey Red Oil, is a classic anionic surfactant with excellent emulsifying, wetting, penetrating and dispersing properties. It is most widely applied in textile industry as a key auxiliary for dyeing, printing and fabric finishing. It improves dye permeability and color uniformity for cotton, wool and silk fabrics, and acts as a softener to enhance fabric hand feel. In leather processing, it serves as fatliquoring agent to soften leather, increase flexibility and prevent cracking. It is also used in cosmetics and daily chemicals as emulsifier and humectant for creams, lotions and hair care products. In metalworking, it functions as lubricant and rust inhibitor for cutting fluids and grinding fluids. Additionally, it works as emulsifier in pesticide formulations and industrial emulsions. With good biocompatibility and stable performance, this product has long been a fundamental auxiliary material across textile, leather, daily chemical and mechanical industries.

Safety Information

This product is classified as GHS07 Warning, which may cause mild skin and eye irritation. It can enter human body through inhalation of mist, direct skin contact, eye contact and accidental ingestion. Generally, it has low acute toxicity and will not cause severe poisoning under normal operating conditions. Short-term skin contact only leads to slight redness or itching; prolonged and frequent exposure may degrease the skin surface, resulting in dryness, tightness and mild dermatitis for sensitive skin groups. When liquid splashes into eyes, it will cause stinging, excessive tearing and conjunctival discomfort. Inhalation of fine mist in poorly ventilated space may irritate nasal cavity and throat, bringing slight cough and sore throat. Accidental intake of a small amount will not cause obvious harm, while large ingestion may induce mild gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea and stomach distension.
All operations should be carried out in well-ventilated environments. Operators are recommended to wear ordinary protective gloves and safety goggles to avoid long-term skin contact and liquid splashing into eyes. Keep the product away from strong oxidants and strong acids to avoid chemical deterioration. Once skin contact occurs, wash the contaminated part thoroughly with running water and soap. If eye irritation appears, flush eyes continuously with plenty of clean water for at least 15 minutes. Seek medical treatment in time if discomfort persists. Do not induce vomiting after accidental ingestion, just rinse mouth with clean water. Store the product sealed and upright to prevent leakage. This material is not classified as dangerous goods for transportation. Dispose of waste liquid and waste containers in accordance with local industrial waste treatment regulations to avoid random discharge and environmental pollution.
