Application

Potassium L-ascorbate is the potassium salt of vitamin C, featuring antioxidant, nutritional fortification and pH buffering properties. It is widely applied in food, health care products, pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries. In food industry, it is used as antioxidant E303 to prevent lipid oxidation and browning of fruits and vegetables, so as to extend shelf life. It also acts as a nutritional fortifier to supplement vitamin C and potassium for beverages, dairy products, baked goods and meat products. In health care products, it serves as buffered vitamin C supplement. It causes less gastrointestinal irritation than common ascorbic acid, suitable for people with sensitive stomach. It helps enhance immunity, relieve fatigue and promote collagen synthesis. In pharmaceutical field, it is applied in electrolyte supplements for treating hypokalemia and scurvy, and used as stabilizer to prevent drugs from oxidation. In cosmetics, it functions as antioxidant to inhibit free radicals, brighten skin tone and delay aging, commonly added into serums, lotions and sunscreen products. Thanks to high water solubility and nearly neutral pH, it has excellent compatibility and becomes an ideal alternative to conventional vitamin C.
