- Hydrolysis characteristic: Accelerated hydrolysis under acid/alkali heating, produces phosphoric acid and methanol
- Methylation activity: Can act as weak methyl donor for selective methylation in organic synthesis
- Flame retardant property: Decomposes at high temperature to form phosphorus-containing char layer, suppresses combustion
- Thermal stability: Stable below 150 ℃; above 200 ℃ decomposes and releases methyl alcohol vapor

- Compatibility: Compatible with most polar organic solvents; incompatible with strong alkaline solutions at high temperature, strong oxidants
