Fertilizer/Urea
Urea, also known as urea or carbamide, is a final product of protein metabolism in humans and mammals, and it is also a major organic nitrogen compound excreted by the animal body. The pure product is white granular or needle-like, prismatic crystals. If mixed with heavy metals such as iron, it appears light red or yellow. Odorless and tasteless, it is readily soluble in water, ethanol and benzene, but poorly soluble in ether. At 20oC, 100 kilograms of water can dissolve 105 kilograms of urea, and the dissolution process absorbs heat. The aqueous solution shows a neutral reaction. The nitrogen content of the pure product is 46.65%, that of agricultural urea is 42% - 46%, and it contains a small amount of biuret, generally less than 2%, which is usually harmless to crop growth. The specific gravity and bulk density of urea are both relatively low, and each cubic meter of fertilizer weighs 0.65 tons
