- Esterification reaction: Reacts with alcohols to synthesize itaconic acid ester plasticizers
- Neutralization reaction: Reacts with alkalis to form soluble itaconate salts
- Thermal stability: Stable below 150 ℃; high temperature heating decarboxylates to form citraconic acid impurities
- Photostability: Slightly sensitive to long-term strong UV light, prone to slight yellowing
- Compatibility: Compatible with alcohols, esters, water-based resins; incompatible with strong oxidants, high-temperature concentrated alkali
