- Appearance: White crystalline powder or granular crystal
- Odor: Odorless, astringent metallic taste
- Solubility: Freely soluble in water; slightly soluble in methanol; insoluble in ethanol and other organic solvents

- Hygroscopy: Slightly hygroscopic under high humidity environment

Chemical Properties
- Molecular Structure: Ionic inorganic salt composed of Zn2+ and SO42- ions
- Thermal Decomposition: Decomposes into zinc oxide, sulfur trioxide and sulfur dioxide when heated above 600 °C
- Precipitation Reaction: Reacts with alkali, carbonate, sulfide to generate corresponding zinc precipitates
- Redox Stability: Stable under normal conditions, no redox reaction with common neutral substances
