- Solubility: Insoluble in cold water, slightly soluble in hot water; insoluble in ethanol, acetone, ether; soluble in dilute alkaline solution
- Melting Point: Decomposes above 240 ℃ without clear melting point

Chemical Properties
- Molecular structure: Tetracarboxylic acid containing two amino groups, multi-dentate chelating ligand
- Amphiprotic acid: Four carboxyl groups, can generate tetra-sodium salt, di-sodium salt with alkali
- Universal chelation: Forms stable water-soluble chelate complexes with almost all metal ions (Ca, Mg, Fe, Cu, Zn, Pb etc.)
- Acid-base stability: Chelate structure stable in neutral/weak acid environment; strong concentrated acid can decompose metal complex
- Thermal stability: Stable below 200 ℃; high temperature heating causes decarboxylation degradation
- Photostability: Light stable, no discoloration during sealed storage
