Diatrizoate sodium is a water-soluble iodinated X-ray contrast agent, appearing as white to off-white crystalline powder with a slightly salty taste. As an ionic high-osmolar contrast medium, it features high iodine content, excellent water solubility and stable chemical properties. Widely used in medical diagnostic imaging and biochemical research, it is manufactured via nitration, reduction, iodination, acetylation and salt formation. For medical, pharmaceutical and research use only.
