Fullerene C60 (CAS 99685-96-8), also known as Buckminsterfullerene or "buckyball", is a zero-dimensional carbon allotrope with a unique hollow icosahedral cage structure composed of 60 sp2-hybridized carbon atoms. It appears as a dark brown to black crystalline powder, insoluble in water but soluble in aromatic solvents.
