Uses
Tannic acid is a natural plant polyphenol with strong astringency, adsorption and complexing properties.
In the food industry, it is used as clarifier, flavor improver and preservative for wine, beer and beverage.
In pharmaceutical industry, it acts as astringent, hemostatic and antidiarrheal raw material, also used in external anti-inflammatory preparations.
In leather industry, it is widely used as vegetable tanning agent for leather tanning processing.
It is also applied in water treatment, metal corrosion inhibition, ink manufacturing, dye industry and as analytical reagent in laboratory research.
