Uses

4,5-Dimethyl-1,3-dioxol-2-one is a versatile organic synthetic intermediate and fine chemical raw material, widely used in pharmaceutical, chemical, electronic and material fields. In organic synthesis, it is an important cyclic carbonate reagent, used for the synthesis of various pharmaceutical intermediates, such as heterocyclic compounds, amino acids and esters; it can also be used as a methylating agent and acylating agent in organic reactions, participating in nucleophilic substitution and addition reactions. In the electronic field, it is used as an additive for lithium-ion battery electrolytes, which can improve the cycle performance and high-temperature stability of batteries, reduce the hydrolysis of electrolytes and improve the safety of batteries. In the material field, it is used as an intermediate for plasticizers and polymer monomers, used in the synthesis of polycarbonates, polyurethanes and other polymers, improving the flexibility and processing performance of materials.
