6-Aminopenicillanic acid (CAS: 551-16-6), abbreviated as 6-APA, is a white to pale yellow crystalline powder. As a core β-lactam compound and important pharmaceutical intermediate, it is mainly used for synthesizing semi-synthetic penicillins such as amoxicillin and ampicillin.
