BOC-N-ME-D-ALLO-ILE-OH (CAS 53462-50-3), also known as Boc-N-methyl-D-allo-isoleucine, is a heterocyclic organic compound and a derivative of D-allo-isoleucine. Its molecular formula is C??H??NO?, with a molecular weight of 245.32 Da, and its IUPAC name is (2R,3S)-3-methyl-2-(methyl-((2-methylpropan-2-yl)oxycarbonyl)amino)pentanoic acid. It usually appears as a white to off-white crystalline powder, and is widely used as an important intermediate in peptide synthesis, pharmaceutical R&D and organic synthesis fields, playing a key role in the preparation of bioactive peptides and pharmaceutical molecules.
1. Physical Properties
White to off-white crystalline powder; melting point 85-90 °C; optical rotation +15° to +20° (c=1, MeOH); soluble in organic solvents such as methanol, ethanol and DMSO, slightly soluble in water; stable under normal cool and dry conditions.
2. Chemical Properties
As a derivative of D-allo-isoleucine with a Boc protecting group and N-methyl substitution, it is stable under recommended storage conditions. It is compatible with common organic synthesis reactions, and the Boc protecting group can be removed under acidic conditions, which is conducive to peptide chain extension.
