1. Physical Properties

Bis(2-ethylhexyl) adipate is a colorless to pale yellow transparent liquid, with a slight characteristic ester odor, no sediment, suspended matter or mechanical impurities, and good fluidity. It has a density of 0.922-0.928 g/cm3 at 20℃, a boiling point of 417℃, and a flash point of 196℃, which is non-volatile under normal temperature and pressure. It is soluble in most organic solvents such as ethanol, ether, acetone, benzene and chloroform, slightly soluble in water (solubility ≤0.01 g/100mL at 20℃), and has excellent compatibility with various organic compounds and synthetic resins.

2. Chemical Properties

It is an organic ester compound with stable chemical properties, not easy to oxidize or decompose under normal temperature and pressure. It is resistant to weak acids and weak bases, but may hydrolyze under strong acid or strong base conditions to produce adipic acid and 2-ethylhexanol. It has excellent thermal stability, and does not decompose when heated below 180℃. It is non-toxic and non-irritating under normal use conditions, and meets the relevant quality standards of industrial-grade organic fine chemicals and plasticizers.

3. Storage & Safety Properties

Storage: It should be stored in a dry, cool, well-ventilated and sealed environment at room temperature, avoiding high temperature, open flame, direct sunlight and moisture. It is not allowed to be mixed with strong acids, strong bases, oxidants and other harmful substances, and the packaging should be kept intact to prevent leakage, contamination and deterioration.

Safety: Under normal operation, it is non-toxic and non-irritating to skin and mucous membranes. In case of accidental contact with skin or eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water for 15 minutes.
