This polyether-modified trisiloxane is a high-performance nonionic silicone surfactant, widely used as an agricultural spray adjuvant, coating additive, and cleaning agent. In agrochemicals, it drastically reduces spray solution surface tension (to ~21 mN/m), improving spreading, wetting, and penetration on plant surfaces. It enhances foliar absorption of pesticides, fertilizers, and plant growth regulators, improving efficacy and rainfastness while reducing application rates and environmental runoff. In coatings and inks, it improves substrate wetting, leveling, and gloss, preventing craters and fish eyes. In household and industrial cleaning, it boosts wetting and emulsification. It is also used in polyurethane foam, textile, and leather processing.
GHS Classification: Not classified (low hazard)
Hazard Statements: None
This compound has low acute toxicity (oral LD50 >5000 mg/kg in rats). Direct skin contact may cause mild, transient irritation; eye contact may cause slight stinging. Inhalation of mist may cause mild respiratory irritation. No evidence of carcinogenicity, mutagenicity, or reproductive toxicity. It is biodegradable and poses low risk to aquatic life. Handle with routine industrial practices: nitrile gloves, safety goggles, and avoid prolonged skin contact. In case of eye contact, rinse with water for 15 minutes. Store away from strong acids and bases. Dispose of waste per local regulations.
