Application

Z-Trp(Boc)-OH·DCHA is a dual-protected L-tryptophan derivative and key intermediate in solid-phase peptide synthesis (SPPS). It features two orthogonal protecting groups: Z (Cbz) for the α-amino group and Boc for the indole nitrogen, enabling selective deprotection and chain assembly. As a high-purity amino acid salt, it is widely used in the synthesis of bioactive peptides, peptide hormones, and pharmaceutical intermediates, especially for tryptophan-containing sequences in anticancer, antiviral, and neuroprotective drug development. The DCHA salt form enhances crystallinity, stability, and solubility in organic solvents, improving handling and coupling efficiency in SPPS. It is also applied in peptide library construction, academic research, and biotech drug R&D, serving as a critical building block for complex peptide molecules with improved metabolic stability and target selectivity.

Safety Information

This product is a low-hazard biochemical reagent, classified as GHS07 (Warning) with mild irritant properties. Inhalation of fine dust may cause slight respiratory irritation, cough, or throat discomfort. Skin contact may trigger mild dryness or allergic reactions in sensitive individuals; prolonged exposure may cause irritation. Eye contact can lead to temporary redness, stinging, or tearing. Ingestion may cause mild gastrointestinal upset (nausea, diarrhea) in large doses. Handle in a well-ventilated fume hood; wear nitrile gloves, safety goggles, and a dust mask. Avoid inhalation, skin/eye contact, and ingestion. Store separately from strong oxidants, acids, and food. In case of skin contact, rinse with plenty of water for 15 minutes. If eyes are affected, flush with clean water for 10 minutes and seek medical advice. If swallowed, do not induce vomiting; drink water and consult a physician. Dispose of waste per local hazardous waste regulations.
