Nitrofurazone is a broad-spectrum antibacterial agent. It inhibits gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, widely used in topical anti-infection treatment for skin wounds, burns and mucosal inflammation. It acts as veterinary medicine for animal intestinal and skin bacterial infection. Also used as pharmaceutical intermediate for furan derivative synthesis, and preservative in partial biological products.

Has certain toxicity and irritation. Dust inhalation irritates respiratory tract, wear dust mask and keep ventilation. Skin contact may cause allergic redness and itching, wear protective gloves. Eye contact triggers severe stinging, rinse with plenty of water timely. Ingestion causes gastrointestinal discomfort and organ damage. Avoid light exposure and strong oxidants.
