Applications
Basic nickel carbonate is an important inorganic nickel salt with wide industrial uses. It is mainly used as raw material for preparing various nickel compounds including nickel oxide, nickel chloride and nickel nitrate. In electroplating industry, it is used to adjust nickel plating solution components, improve coating brightness and adhesion, widely applied in hardware electroplating and electronic component surface treatment. In catalyst industry, it serves as precursor for hydrogenation catalyst, petroleum refining catalyst and chemical reaction catalyst, possessing good catalytic activity. It is also used in ceramic colorants, magnetic materials, battery electrode materials and glass coloring agents. Besides, it can be used as industrial raw material for pigment manufacturing and chemical analytical reagent. With stable chemical performance and high activity, it is widely used in electroplating, chemical catalysis, new energy and inorganic fine chemical fields.
Safety Information
Basic nickel carbonate belongs to harmful irritant substance with certain chronic toxicity. Inhalation of dust will severely stimulate respiratory tract, cause cough, sore throat and chest discomfort, long-term inhalation may induce respiratory lesions, so operators must wear professional dust-proof masks and keep working environment fully ventilated. Skin contact is easy to cause allergic dermatitis, red swelling and itching symptoms, long-term contact will damage skin tissue, must wear acid and alkali resistant protective gloves and clean skin in time after contact. Eye contact will lead to severe irritation and conjunctival injury, once splashing occurs, rinse with plenty of clean water continuously for more than fifteen minutes and seek medical treatment immediately. Accidental ingestion will cause nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain, affecting digestive system health. This product reacts with acid to release carbon dioxide, shall be stored separately from acidic chemicals. Strictly avoid mixing with food and daily necessities. All waste materials must be treated in accordance with heavy metal hazardous waste standards to prevent soil and water pollution and ensure personal operation safety.
