Applications
Undecylenic aldehyde is an important aliphatic unsaturated aldehyde with unique fragrance and chemical activity, widely used in daily flavor, food spice and organic synthesis industries. It owns elegant fresh floral and fruity aroma, which is commonly applied in blending floral fragrance, citrus fragrance and daily cosmetic essence, and added into soap, perfume, skin care products and air fresheners to adjust fragrance tone. In food industry, it can be used as flavor enhancer for beverage, candy and baked food. Chemically, it contains double bond and aldehyde group, capable of oxidation, reduction, addition and condensation reactions, used to synthesize undecylenic acid, spice derivatives and pharmaceutical intermediates. It also serves as raw material for preparing antibacterial additives and plant growth regulators. With mild fragrance and stable physical property, it is a mainstream spice raw material with large market demand in flavor and fragrance industry.
