Applications
Perfluorobutanesulfonyl fluoride is a high-activity fluorinated sulfonylation reagent widely used in fine organic synthesis, pharmaceutical intermediates, agrochemicals and new functional materials. It can efficiently introduce perfluorobutanesulfonyl group into organic molecules, greatly enhancing chemical stability, lipophilicity and surface activity of target compounds. It is mainly used for modification of alcohols, phenols and amines, and applied in synthesis of high-efficiency drugs, pesticides and bioactive substances. It is also the core raw material for manufacturing perfluorobutanesulfonate salts, ionic liquids and high-temperature resistant electrolytes, which are widely used in electrochemistry and new energy industries. Besides, it is used to produce fluorine-containing surfactants, waterproof oil-repellent agents and high-performance fluorine materials. With stable reaction performance and high conversion rate, it plays an irreplaceable role in advanced fluorine chemical industry and pharmaceutical synthesis field.
Safety Information
This substance is highly irritating and corrosive hazardous chemical. Inhalation of its vapor will severely irritate respiratory tract, causing cough, chest pain and breathing difficulty. All operations must be finished in well-ventilated fume hood with gas protective respirator. Skin contact will cause chemical burn and severe skin corrosion, so full set of anti-corrosion protective gloves and work clothes must be worn. Eye contact will lead to serious eye tissue damage, immediately flush eyes with plenty of running water for over 15 minutes and seek medical treatment at once. Accidental ingestion will burn digestive tract mucosa seriously, do not induce vomiting and receive urgent medical treatment promptly. Its vapor is heavier than air and easy to accumulate at low places, keep away from fire and high temperature. Thermal decomposition will release toxic fluoride and sulfur oxide fumes. Keep it separated from food, daily necessities and incompatible chemicals. All waste shall be disposed strictly in accordance with hazardous waste regulations to avoid environmental pollution and personal injury.
