Applications
CAS 8029-92-3 (Myvacet 9-40) is a food-grade acetylated monoglyceride emulsifier & stabilizer, widely used in food, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, and coatings. As a lipophilic nonionic emulsifier (HLB ~4), it stabilizes water-in-oil (W/O) emulsions, improves texture, and prevents phase separation. In food industry (E472a), it acts as an emulsifier, plasticizer, and anti-staling agent in margarine, shortening, bakery products (bread, cakes), confectionery, and frozen desserts, enhancing dough flexibility, moisture retention, and shelf life. In cosmetics & personal care, it serves as an emollient, thickener, and solvent in creams, lotions, lipsticks, and hair care products, providing smooth, silky skin feel and improving formulation stability. In pharmaceuticals, it is used as a lubricant and binder in tablets and capsules. It also functions as a dispersant and compatibility agent in industrial coatings and polymer blends.
