Applications
Lanthanum chloride hydrate is an important rare earth inorganic salt with extensive industrial and scientific research values. It can be used as high-efficiency Lewis acid catalyst to accelerate various organic synthesis reactions such as Friedel-Crafts reaction and hydrocarbon catalytic reaction, greatly improving reaction efficiency and product yield. It serves as core raw material for preparing lanthanum-based new functional materials, luminescent materials, ceramic additives and rare earth composite nanomaterials. In environmental protection field, it is applied in water treatment to effectively remove phosphate and harmful impurities in sewage. It is also widely used in petrochemical industry as petroleum cracking auxiliary agent, biochemical research reagent and laboratory analytical chemical reagent. In addition, it can be used in electronic industry, glass coloring and rare earth coordination compound synthesis, playing an irreplaceable role in new material development and fine chemical production.
Safety Information
This chemical has certain irritation and low oral toxicity to human body. Inhalation of its fine dust will stimulate human respiratory tract, easily cause throat itching, cough and respiratory discomfort, and long-term inhalation will affect normal respiratory function. Direct skin contact will cause mild skin irritation, lead to local skin redness, dryness and itching symptoms, and sensitive skin is more prone to adverse reactions. Eye contact will cause obvious stinging sensation and conjunctival inflammation, which must be rinsed with a large amount of clean water continuously for more than fifteen minutes in time. Accidental ingestion will cause mild nausea, abdominal distension and other gastrointestinal discomfort symptoms. During operation, staff must wear dust-proof masks, protective gloves and safety goggles, and work in well-ventilated environment. Keep it sealed and stored separately from food, daily necessities and strong alkaline chemicals. Waste materials and residual products shall be disposed in strict accordance with hazardous waste treatment regulations to avoid environmental pollution and potential safety hazards.
