Applications
Clove oil is a natural plant essential oil with eugenol as the dominant active ingredient, possessing excellent antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, analgesic and antioxidant properties. Widely used in daily chemical and flavor industry, it is applied in spice blending, perfume formulation, toothpaste, soap and cosmetic additives for its unique aromatic fragrance and flavor-enhancing effect. In pharmaceutical field, it is used as raw material for oral care products, dental analgesic preparations and external anti-inflammatory ointments, relieving toothache, gum inflammation and skin minor infection.
In food industry, it serves as a natural food flavoring and preservative for confectionery, baked goods and beverage flavoring. It also acts as biological pesticide raw material, used in plant protection for antibacterial, insect repellent and mildew inhibition. Additionally, it is commonly used in laboratory fragrance research, aromatherapy products and fine chemical synthetic raw materials.
Safety Information
Clove oil has strong irritation to skin, mucous membrane and eyes. Direct skin contact may cause redness, burning sensation and allergic dermatitis; long-term exposure easily leads to skin sensitivity. Eye contact will cause severe irritation, stinging and conjunctival injury, requiring immediate rinsing with plenty of clean water. Inhalation of high-concentration vapor may stimulate respiratory tract, causing dizziness, throat discomfort and coughing. Accidental ingestion may cause gastrointestinal irritation, nausea and abdominal pain.
Keep away from strong oxidants and heat sources to prevent oxidation deterioration. During handling, operate in ventilated place, wear chemical gloves, protective goggles and avoid direct skin contact. Store tightly sealed in cool dark environment, prevent air oxidation and color darkening. Waste oil and packaging should be disposed according to chemical waste regulations, and prohibited from random discharge to avoid water and environmental pollution.
