Product Description
High-impact polystyrene, also known as HIPS, is a thermoplastic material made of elastomer-modified polystyrene. The two-phase system composed of a rubber phase and a continuous polystyrene phase has developed into an important polymer product in the world. This general product has a wide range of impact properties and processing properties, making it widely used ,Such as used in automobiles, appliances, electric products, furniture, household appliances, telecommunications, electronics, computers, disposable products, medicine, packaging and entertainment markets. This type of PS is typically made by adding 5-10% rubber or butadiene copolymer. This increases the polymer's toughness and impact strength, resulting in a very stiff product that is ideal for packaging applications.
General Purpose Polystyrene is a kind of thermoplastic resin, is a colorless, odorless, tasteless, shiny, transparent beaded or granular solid. Density is 1.04 to 1.09, transparency is 88% to 92%, refractive index is 1.59 to 1.60. In the stress function, resulting in birefringence, the so-called stress - optical effect. Product of the melting temperature is 150 to 180 ° C, thermal decomposition teperature is 300 ° C, the heat distortion temperature is 70 to 100 ° C, long-term use temperature is 60 ~ 80 °C.
E.P.S. (Expandable Poly-Styrene) is a lightweight, rigid, plastic foam insulation material produced from solid particles of polystyrene. Expansion is achieved by virtue of small amounts ofpentane gas dissolved into the polystyrene base material during production. The gas expands under the action of heat, applied as steam, to form perfectly closed cells of EPS. These cells occupy approximately 40 times the volume of the original polystyrene bead. The EPS beads are then molded into appropriate forms suited to their application. Products made from foamed polystyrene are nearly ubiquitous, for example packing materials, insulation, and foam drink cups.
